Independence first
We are reader-supported. No sponsored posts, no affiliate placements inside editorial, and no vendor influence over what we cover or how we cover it.
Primary sources
We read the papers, test the products, and talk to the people building them. If a claim only exists in a press release, it does not run here.
Depth over speed
We would rather publish the right analysis a week late than the fast take today. Careful work compounds; churn does not.
Plain language
Technical subjects deserve clear writing. If a paragraph needs a glossary to parse, we have not finished editing it.
Corrections in public
When we get something wrong we say so, at the top of the piece, with what changed and why. Quiet edits erode trust.
Reader over algorithm
We write for people who want to understand a technology, not for a ranking system. That shapes every editorial decision we make.
The hard part was never access to information. It is knowing which of it matters, and why — that is the work we do every week.
